The Board of Trustees as a whole made a splash at SMU this month. The board approved the new quad to be named after the university’s president, R. Gerald Turner. The quad will be called “The R. Gerald Turner Centennial Quadrangle.”
Former first lady Laura Bush’s program, the Alliance to Reform Education Leadership, and the Bush Institute announced a partnership with the Gwinnett Schools. The new program is designed to improve the leadership of principals in the county.
Kansas City Chiefs owner and SMU Trustee Clark Hunt continues to make the news as the NFL lockout stretches on past the 100-day mark. The Kansas City Star has commented that the battle has almost just come down to Hunt vs. Dallas Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones.
Board Ex Officio and SMU President R. Gerald Turner will serve as the grand marshall of the Park Cities 4th of July parade. The parade is hosted by the Rotary Club of Park Cities.
