Your Quick Recap: The March 29 Student Senate Meeting

Yes, there was an actual Student Senate meeting yesterday amid all of the election hub-bub.

But no, there’s no print story in Wednesday’s print product. Senate did very little so that they could finish in time for the SBO Debate.

So here’s the live-blog.

Senate voted to grant full charters to the Polo Club, University Libertarians and the Student Association of Music Therapy.

Senate voted to approve four funding requests (two were introduced as new business this week, but Senate voted to suspend the rules and fund this week):

The Graduate Women’s Organization was funded $100 to do an arts and crafts project at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. They had originally requested $100, and FC recommended funding in full.

The Muslim Student Association was funded $3,745 for the MSA Lone Star Council Showdown, a conference of MSAs from around Texas. They had originally requested $3,745, and FC recommended funding in full.

The Sports & Entertainment Law Association was funded $1,000 for their annual “Legal Issues in Film” panel. They had originally requested $1,500, and FC recommended funding in full. At the start of today’s meeting, they requested an amendment for less money, which was approved.

The Hip-Hop Dance Club was funded $1,213 to host a California artist for their Biannual HDDClinic. They had originally requested $1,813, but FC recommended only funding for one of the artists they wanted to bring.
