Good news from Provost Paul Ludden via a mass e-mail: Meadows Dean José Bowen is staying on for another five years:

I thank each of you who commented on Jose’s leadership of the School over the past five years, and I have summarized your comments in my letter of appointment to José.Congratulations to Dean Bowen and I look forward to working with him and with the members of the Meadows School, as we take SMU and the School forward in our Centennial years.

    What makes anyone think keeping this narcissistic autocrat is automatically “good news”? Headline ought to read, “Meadows once again insults its own faculty by refusing to dismiss short-sighted abusive Dean”. Does anyone really care to look into what people truly think about this self-important opportunist?
