As of Aug. 10, Director of undergraduate admission for the Cox School of Business Stephanie Dupaul is SMU’s interim dean of admission, according to the SMU forum. Dupaul will supervise the recruitment and admission for SMU’s undergraduate programs, while supervising staff in central admissions. She will also work with recruitment officers in the schools and the central Office of Public Affairs on recruitment marketing.
Within the next several months, SMU plans to restructure the Office of Admission to continue the increase in number and quality of applicants.
Dupaul will be taking the place of Ron Moss, who worked with SMU admissions for 17 years. It was under his leadership in 2010 that applicants for the fall entering class approached 9,000 and accepted students’ SAT scores rose nearly 100 points from the previous 10 years.
Before replacing Moss, Dupaul worked with the Cox undergraduate recruitment since 2002 and served as Cox associate director for B.B.A. Advising from 1996-2002.
Before coming to SMU, she was the associate director of M.B.A. admissions at the University of Dallas and the academic adviser at Brookhaven College. Dupaul earned her Ed.D. degree in education administration from the University of Alabama.
